About TrainTracker
An independent live rail map — train positions, timetables and punctuality statistics for railway networks across four continents. Free to use, no ads, no account. This page explains where the data comes from and how much to trust it.
Everything on this site is built from publicly available railway data — real-time feeds and published timetables made available by infrastructure managers, train operators and open-data platforms, aggregated and refreshed continuously.
Each network publishes different things, in different ways, at different quality — and that difference is visible on the map.
- Measured Live positions and measured stop times — delay and punctuality figures are measured fact.
- Estimated Live or estimated positions, with delays estimated by the source — delay figures say “estimated”.
- Positions only Trains are tracked live, but the network publishes no usable punctuality data — so we show none.
- Timetable only No live tracking is published — trains move along their published schedule, and pages say “Timetable”.
Every page tells you which kind of data it is showing. Between two reported positions a train glides — that smooth movement is an interpolation, not a measurement. And where a page can’t back a number with real data, it shows nothing rather than a guess.
TrainTracker is provided for information and interest, free of charge and as-is. The data shown originates from third-party sources of varying quality and completeness — it can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and entire feeds can drop out without notice. No guarantee is given for the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of anything displayed here, and no responsibility is accepted for decisions made on the basis of it.
Never rely on this site to catch a train. For journey planning and departures, the operator’s official website or app is always the authoritative source.
